Georgina Rodríguez is speaking her truth.
The 32-year-old model and influencer, who is also engaged to soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, shared a powerful message on Instagram after seeing comments about her body in a swimsuit when she was photographed on a boat.
Her Instagram carousel shared on Aug. 4 included those images in addition to a mirror selfie of her in a white bikini.
Rodríguez’s caption, per an Instagram translation from Spanish, began with, “My body will change, as all women’s bodies do. And I hope it continues to do so for many years, because that will mean I’m still alive.”

She went on to share the valuable lessons on confidence she hopes to teach to her children, especially her daughters.
On motherhood, she added, “I’m the mother of six wonderful children, three of whom are girls who will one day be great women. And if there’s one thing I want to teach them—along with Cris [in reference to Ronaldo], whom I’m deeply proud of for the values he embodies as a father and as a man—it’s that a person’s worth can never depend on their physical appearance or the opinions of strangers. That little dose of positive psychology that I try to give them every day also helps me stay on track in this world of so much fantasy.”
Further on, Rodríguez detailed a conversation she had with Ronaldo, 41, about how the scrutiny around her body had made her “worried” that she was being labeled as “fat” since she makes a “living” off of her “image.”
His response, as she shared, reminded her of “what truly matters.”
“And he replied, ‘You don’t live off your image. You live off who you are. A perfect woman. Beautiful, with a great body, a mother, a good person, successful, and who lives life with love. What more could you want?’”

Rodríguez said that the scrutiny comes and goes like clockwork. “The funny thing is, this happens every summer. Every year my body makes the news again,” she shared.
“Then I wonder… where is the standard? Who decides what the ‘right’ body is? Do we really still think happiness has a size?” she continued, noting that she exercises because it makes her “happy” and it’s something she’s “passionate about.”
“Because that hour at the gym is one of the best moments of my day. It gives me health, peace of mind, discipline, energy, and well-being. It’s never been a struggle to lose weight; it’s always been a way of taking care of myself,” she added.
“I love my curves. I love the freedom to live in the body I choose. In the body that supports me, that has allowed me to embrace, create life, fall, and get back up. A body that deserves respect, love, and gratitude in all its versions.”

Her definition of “success,” she concluded, is “living in peace” and “surrounding myself with the people I love. Enjoying my family and friends. Taking care of my health. Laughing. Learning. Living,” she added.
Rodríguez has made a name for herself in the world of fashion, having recently attended the Met Gala and the Cannes Film Festival. She is also one of the many stars, including Kelly Osbourne, Lizzo, Alabama Barker and Ariana Grande, who have spoken out against body-shamers.
